A campaign to help first-time buyers across Newport get their foot onto the property ladder has been hailed a success.
Robert Nicholas Financial Advisers teamed up with experts from Clarke’s Solicitors and Fiveways Insurance Brokers, also based in Newport, to run a two-month long campaign to support people looking to buy their first home.
The Doors Open drop-in sessions were held throughout April and May and provided an opportunity for first-time buyers to seek expert advice on all issues relating to buying a home.
Steve Graves, director of Robert Nicholas Financial Advisers, said the campaign had proven a real success.
“There are so many things to consider when you are looking at buying a property for the first time and this initiative was a way to provide first-time buyers with sound advice so they can make all the necessary preparations without feeling too overwhelmed,” he said.
“We’ve been able to assist people on a range of financial queries about borrowing, deposits, affordability, credit scores, the mortgage process and the best ways for them to start saving for their first home.
“We hope all those who came along are feeling more confident about the home-buying process and we wish them every success in securing that all important first step on the property ladder.”
First-time buyer Daniel Burton, who grew up in Edgmond, took advantage of the free sessions and is now in the process of buying his first home with the support of advisers from Robert Nicholas.
He was also the winner of of a free prize draw to win £150 in Next vouchers.
The Doors-Open event was launched to coincide with Global Money Week.
